Reading posts from other bloggers is something you need to do especially if you own a blog. The benefits of reading other blogs are numerous. Not only do you get to add to your pool of knowledge, but you also get to learn the writing styles of other bloggers and the way they market their content.
Another important aspect of following several bloggers is that you get to comment on their blogs and this way, you can also get noticed, increasing traffic to your site—but how do you keep up with the blogs you are following? Below are some guidelines to help you stay updated if you are following several important blogs.
Subscribe to the blog’s RSS feed if you haven’t already
You can find the RSS feed on blogging platforms and subscribe to your favorite blog’s RSS feed to get their new content automatically on Google Reader or Feedly. You need to download the RSS app to get access to RSS feeds. Google star allows you to star posts. You can star those you have commented on as this will help you easily keep track of them.
BlogLovin’ is another app that can help you get organized.
With bloglovin, all you need to do is sign up for an account, and then find and follow the blogs that interest you. You can also categorize blogs to create more organization with content. Put all of your favorite posts in one place by going to ‘blog feed’ and saving the posts you like.
Forget about all the past posts you have not read and plan ahead
So you have been struggling to keep up with all these blog posts in your RSS other feed? Your schedule is neither here nor there, so you have never had time to read them. The best thing is to delete all your records and start anew. If you take time trying to catch up with previous posts, newer ones may keep showing up, and you will end up in the same mess all over again.
Make a schedule of what blog to read each day and always leave a comment
You cannot read every single blog every day. You can allocate a day for each blog or even assign two blogs to one day. When you read the blogs, determine to leave a comment.
Limit the blogs you subscribe to
If you subscribe to too many blogs, you will never be able to read them all consistently. It is best if you decide the blogs you love the most, the ones which you find most helpful. They may be up to five of them. Follow these loyally. Subscribing to a few blogs does not mean you will not read other blogs. You can always search for something in other sights when you want, but only subscribe to the content you feel is most important now.
If you find that you are no longer interested in a blog, unsubscribe from it and remain with the blogs that truly interest you.
